Title:  GRB physics and cosmology with the Ep - Intensity correlation.  


Abstract:  The correlation between the photon energy at which the nuFnu spectrum peaks (hence called "peak energy", Ep) and the isotropic-equivalent radiated energy (Eiso) or luminosity (Liso), is one of the most intriguing and debated observational evidences in Gamma-Ray Bursts (GRB) astrophysics.  I present the updated Ep,i - Eiso (Liso) correlation and discuss its main implications for the physics and geometry of the GRB emission, the identification and origin of different sub-classes of GRBs (short/long, X-Ray Flashes, sub-energetic events) and the possible use of GRBs as cosmological probes. I also discuss the possible impact of selection / instrumental effects on the correlation and the future perspectives with present and next generation GRB experiments.
